Nearest petrol station: Rignano sull'Arno. Self-service petrol stations are always open. There is one in Reggello on the way to Cascia and another one past Pontassieve, on the right hand side of the main road; payment with 10.000 and 50.000 Lire bills. Unleaded petrol is now available at all petrol stations.

Food shops - Foodstuffs
Closed on Wednesday afternoon and Sunday and every day for lunch-break. On Sunday morning, however, some of the local shops are open until about 12.30.

Le Cascine, a huge market along the river Arno at Le Cascine park. Open on Tuesday morning. S. Lorenzo Market, open from Tuesday to Saturday during winter and from Monday to Saturday during summer.

Golf Courses
Golf Club dell'Ugolino, a 18-hole course located close to Grassina, about 7 km south-east of Florence (approx. 35 km from Villa Pitiana).
